About the Clinic

What is pedodontics?

Pedodontics (Pediatric Dentistry) is a branch of dentistry that aims to protect the milk and permanent teeth of children aged 0-13 in a healthy way, and to eliminate the problems caused by caries, trauma, hereditary factors and similar factors in these teeth. Pedodontics includes preventive measures that monitor and treat children's oral and dental health and jaw-facial area development from infancy.

At what age should I take my child to the dentist?

On the first birthday, visit your pediatric dentist. It will be very useful to repeat these visits every 2-3 months. Clean your child's teeth only with a toothbrush, both before night sleep and day sleep. Help him with oral care until all of his milk teeth (2.5-3 years old) last.

What is bottle rot?

Early childhood caries (bi̇beron caries) is defined as the condition in children 71 months of age or younger, when there is one or more bruises in the milk teeth, lost tooth or filled tooth due to caries.

What should be considered when babies' teeth begin to come out?

Do not put your baby to sleep by breastfeeding.

After cleaning your teeth with a wet cloth, put them to sleep.

Never put your baby to sleep with a bottle filled with a sugary, honey milk mixture.

Do not force your baby to finish the food in the bottle. This approach can lead to the child vomiting.

In case of bottle feeding, do not put the bottle in your own mouth on the grounds of controlling its temperature.

Fruit juices, which are very useful for children, can cause tooth decay when filled with a bottle and given continuously.

When the child is 1 year old, abandon the use of breastfeeding and bottles and get used to drinking liquid foods with glasses.

Just clean your child's teeth with a toothbrush. Help him with oral care until all of his milk teeth (2.5-3 years old) last.

What is the importance of milk teeth?

Milk teeth are 20 in total. The first task of milk teeth is to ensure that the child is fed. In addition, the proper development of speech depends on the presence of milk teeth. Milk teeth protect the area they cover for the permanent tooth that will replace them and guide them as they erue permanent teeth. When the milk tooth is pulled early, this natural place retention function is also eliminated. The first purpose of pediatric dentistry is to take measures to prevent the occurrence of dental problems and to direct children to a decay-free future. The procedures applied for this purpose are called Protective Dentistry Applications.
